We are Jeff & Lori Loomis, serving in Japan with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Our current term began in April 2005. We reside in Ichinomiya City, a suburb of Nagoya City, both of which are in Aichi Prefecture, central Japan. We are both in fulltime language study during our first term, which means we study Japanese at least 40 hours per week. Our first stateside assignment (furlough) will begin sometime after April 2009.
From 1996 to 1998, Jeff served in Nagasaki, Japan as a Journeyman missionary. From 2002 to 2004, we served together on Rokko Island in Kobe, Japan as International Service Corps. missionaries.

Jeff graduated from Houston Baptist University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Christianity. He lacks three classes from receiving his Masters of Missiology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Lori graduated from Houston Baptist University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.
We were married on November 4, 2000 and have one son, Kade, born January 24, 2005.
